When working under sterile circumstances, utensils have to be sterile at all times too. To make sure they are, sterilization is used. This can be done using direct heating from open flames, with e.g. a Bunsen burner, or with indirect heating using glass bead or infrared sterilizers.
At Lab Associates we offer our own glass bead sterilizer models, which are used in many plant tissue culture and seed laboratories all over the world. Our glass bead sterilizers have a round tube containing glass beads that heats up to approximately 300°C, providing an environment that is able to sterilize utensils such as forceps and scalpel blades and holders. The temperature can be adjusted to the desired temperature via the analogue regulator on the outside. The sterilizers are available at 230V and 110V.
