Ticarcillin and clavulanic acid mixed in a ratio of 15:1. Ticarcillin is an inhibitor of bacterial cell wall synthe-sis. It inhibits the crosslinking of peptidoglycan by binding and inactivating of transpeptidases. High activity against gram-negative bacteria such as Agrobacterium strains. ß-lactamase sensitive. Clavulanic acid is a specific inhibitor of ß-lactamase and protects ticarcil-lin against inactivation by ß-lactamase. A very effective combination against resistant Agrobacterium species.
